Dhaka Update 3
hehehe.... its been a little late thatb i have done anything to this blog... but i have a valid reason for it....... IT WAS DAMN HECTIC!!!!
just for record.... but i shall continue the story about my trip...... posthumously, i suppose... :) *with the jet lag on me.... ( ohh i have a lot of excuses!)
so..... where to start... hmmm
it dawned us on the third day that the food that we were having was the same thing.... chicken qourma and phabbay rice.... and vegetables which most probably the same for the three days we were having there.... We were more or less restricted on the spot, as the organisors were quite apprehensive about the situation in Dhaka, which we couldnt tell when we actually went out..... maybe its that living in Lahore has made us quite immune to violent crisis in the city, or made them perceive to be over-prtoectionists of us.... anyways...... most of the presentations were the next day (i.e. Friday), with two, including mine, on Saturday...... so most of the people started really freaking out... it hit suddenly that we are actually here for a serious thing, i.e. to present serious economics research paper.... ohh.. the nights I toiled away looking for subtle touches on my paper, and for internal consistencies...... the nights came back to haunt me in the middle of Dhaka........ The sudden realisation that we are to present our work in front of many people, including three faculty members..... and as Turab said "It's not important to win, but it is important not o look stupid", made me even more tense...... So tension was started to mount in the computer labs of BIAM foundation (which oddly didnt allow shoes in the computer labs..... some sort of holy technology i guess :P)
Then the Indians came... and it was a instant bonding.... i dunno... there was no communicatioon gap with them as we had with the Bengalis... and the Sri Lankans.... ut nothing that night... majority of the group was so damned tensed out for the presentation!
