Dhaka Update 4
I dont know.. how long these things are going... but here is more.....
first day of the conference.... and one of the fantasies of every aiesecer...... when one is wearing an AIESEC shirt in the middle of a crowded place... and some one shouts out.."Hey AIESEC!!" from far away... and you say "Wuzzzzzzap?!"... and you become good friends.... well... quitessentially that came true ....on some level....
Having no presentation of my own... i walked into the room with my bloody conference t-shirt... and then i found an ex-aiesecer....
Arjuna Desai from Delhi University.... he was the VPTN last term.... ammmazing!!!
I wrote to Nida about it as soon as I could get my hands on a bloody computer... hahaha!
ok... i know its getting boring now.....
to keep in short
my presentation went fine... but didnt win.... bengalis cheated (we hypothesize!).... "execute-ive" won in my group... arghhhhhhhhhh
most blatant shit was the quiz competition... in the buzzer round (last round!) "what is...."..... buzzzzz ..."who is ....."....... buzzzzz.... "you are....."...... buzzzzzz, "i am........"....... buzzzzzz
freaking obvious yaar!!!!!
anyhow, after the only fish that i had in bangladesh, we went for the Cox's Bazaar.... 10 hour drive from dhaka!!!! ..... it has the most beautiful beach!!!!! apparently, the longest stretch of beach in the world...... anyhow..... we had fun there.... inhaling sea water , jet ski, ignoring safety precautions et al. pretty much dissappointed with the shopping there (most my comrades were...... been on the trip with shopaholics, i was!!!!!...... and stilll i resisited... for ppl who still hoped i broke my resistance of actually giving ppl any gifts!!) jo bhee ... then we came back.... seeing Cittagong, and millions of rivers in the way.......
i will give my thoughts about the trip in another post.... but anyway..... i had to say... i had a great group to be with....
Sakina, my mommy; Saima, daddy cum person that "orders" not requests; Sanaa, "Taaya" cum ex-step-father who did the same, but never brought Isphahani chai..... with or without "Treat"; Sarmad, my step-brother, son of Sanaa.... and apparently not my twin.... even though our fathers were.....; Asad, cousin and step-brother of Sarmad, son of Sanaa and Ayesha; so Ayesha is "Taee"!!; and Hassan is obviously our "Ustaad Sahab"......
and then there were Turab and Mehreen..... our collective Chacha and Chachi...... a relationship and circumstance i dont even go into......hehehe
then there was the Ik-Tara, that eventually wasnt;.... the "Dug-Dugi", especially demonstrating it for Custom officials at Dhaka Airport; the film plots that we made; Piali; Aarong, i was sick of that place.. arghhhhh; the shoppers in our delegation; the couples scene at Dhaka University; Bengali girls and "hassssssssan!!"; hysterical laughing sessions; chance to sing "Sheeda Telly aavay hee avay", "Alif say Achee, Gaaf say Gurriya, Jeem say Japani", and "Chumma Chumma day day" in Antashkari; the fooooood; Chatpoti; the fish at the Cox's bazaar; Biman Airlines; shoppppping and more shopppppping..... and the Indians.... great to meet you guys!
hahaha.... passsing thoughts later.....
